Party in Singapore

With a young crowd, great clubs and an atmosphere every day of the week, Singapore is a great place to party. Along with Bangkok and Seoul, Singapore is one of the best Asian capitals to head out!

The only negative is the price, mostly because tax on alcohol in the country is very high. It's one of the most expensive places in the world to drink a beer, in Bangkok for example, prices are about 80% cheaper!

To Begin

The best place to kick things off in Singapore is Clarke Quay. The music and atmosphere on the streets mean that the bars, restaurants and discos of the area are always full of people, especially on the weekend, which of course begins on Thursday...

Another good spot is Orchard Road, where as the sun sets the shopping centres give way to elegant bars and clubs. If you're in the area, we recommend that you visit Emerald Hill Road.

Or if you're looking for something a bit different, you can always try one of the rooftop bars

Clubs

Zouk, 1-Altitude, Attica, Kyo, Canvas, Dream, Bang Bang, Kilo… the city is full of clubs! Of all of them, these are our favourites:

Zouk

In Clarke Quay, Zouk is the most famous club in the city, and has been voted the best club in Asia, on various occasions. It has different rooms, each one with a different musical style, and in the main room you can see international stars such as Avicii, Hardwell o Tiesto.

Things get going from 11 pm, and doors close at 3 am on Wednesdays and Fridays, 4 am on Saturdays, and 2 am on Thursdays. Entry normally costs 30 SGD (US$ 22).

1-Altitude

At the top of One Raffles Place, this is the highest bar in Singapore, and the most impressive. At night, the bar becomes a club, and probably the club with the best views in the world!

It opens from Sunday to Thursday, 6 pm to 2 am. On Fridays and Saturdays it closes at 4 am, and entry normally costs 30 SGD (US$ 22)-35 SGD (US$ 25.70), with a drink.

Beach Clubs

If you're looking for a more relaxed atmosphere, or to get things started early, on Sentosa island you'll find beach clubs which get going from midday. The most popular are Mambo Beach Club (a classic), Tanjong Beach Club (stunning) and Ola Beach Club (the newest). The Wave House Sentosa hotel is also worth a look.

Festivals

Singapore also has plenty of music festivals! Here are some worth checking out:

  • Zouk Out: Asia's most famous electronic music festival. This one takes place in December on Sentosa island, and grows every year.
  • Ultra Singapore: Similar to Zouk Out, but on a slightly smaller scale. This one takes place in the middle of June.
  • It's The Ship: as you might be able to guess from the name, this one takes place on board an enormous cruise ship! It began in 2014, and every year the tickets sell out in no time at all! Takes place in November.
