Shopping in Singapore

Shopping in Singapore

Although you might not find all the same kinds of trinkets as you would in somewhere like Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, or other nearby cities, make no mistake: if you like shopping, you're in the right place.

One of the favourite activities of the local Singapore residents is going shopping!

One thing you're not so likely to find in a city as modern and multicultural as Singapore is 'typical' products, but you can easily find traditional wares from China, India and further afield!

The most important shopping areas of Singapore are as follows:

Orchard Road

On Orchard Road you can find the most important shopping centres and shops in Singapore. It's the best place to find products from the major fashion brands

Chinatown

If you can put the amazing food down to take a look around the shops, in Chinatown you'll find everything from antiques and handcrafted artifacts to homeware.

Little India

Little India is your stop for jewelry, furniture, religious art and saris.

One of the most important shopping areas in Little India is the Mustafa Centre - an unusual shopping centre where you'll find everything from luxury watches to wholesale goods. It's like a huge department store!

Bugis Market

At this street market, you're sure to find what you're looking for! And if you're thirsty, why not try one of the unusual juices on offer from the stalls? Grass juice, anyone?

To get there, take the MRT to Bugis (Green line).

Sim Lim Square

Paradise for tech-heads. At this major shopping centre you can find everything, from the latest in cameras, mobile phones, and other tech products.

You can get to Sim Lim Square on the MRT, with the Bugis (green line) stops, or Little India (brown)
